Bruce Springsteen Confirms 8-Week Solo Broadway Run

Bruce Springsteen opens Brooklyn show with Purple Rain

Boss on Broadway! Following weeks of rumors, Bruce Springsteen officially announced on Wednesday that he’ll hit the Great White Way for an eight-week run of solo concerts this fall. Dubbed Springsteen on Broadway, the residency will take place at the 960-seat Walter Kerr Theatre in midtown Manhattan, where Springsteen will play five shows a week. Previews begin on October 3, with an October 12 official opening; the residency is currently scheduled to run through November 26.

“I wanted to do some shows that were as personal and as intimate as possible,” Springsteen says in a statement. “I chose Broadway for this project because it has the beautiful old theaters which seemed like the right setting for what I have in mind. My show is just me, the guitar, the piano and the words and music.” Tickets go on sale August 30 at 10 a.m. ET through Ticketmaster Verified Fan; a pre-registration required for that ticket-buying service, designed to combat bots, begins today and runs through August 27.
