Super Bowl LI: Airbnb
Coca-Cola Get Political in Ads

Airbnb and Coca-Cola were among the brands that got political with their Super Bowl commercials this year. While Airbnb’s spot failed to mention President Donald Trump and his divisive campaign by name, the ad promoted a message of togetherness with a series of close-up facial shots showcasing people of all ages, races and genders. Meanwhile, Coca-Cola re-aired its controversial 2014 Super Bowl commercial, “It’s Beautiful,” which features people singing “America The Beautiful” in several different languages. Other companies that addressed the current political climate included Budweiser (which told the immigration story of its founder), Audi (which promoted equal pay for women) and 84 Lumber, which aired an ad that took direct aim at Trump’s proposed Mexican border wall.
